šŸ” Salvation – A Mystery Revealed

Updated: Jul 28, 2025

The Search for Meaning

From the beginning of time, people have searched for spiritual answers. Religions, cults, and philosophies often offer mystery, but usually with secrecy, fear, or pride. The gospel is different. The apostle Paul declares:

ā€œHe made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasureā€¦ā€Ā (Ephesians 1:9)

The mystery of God’s will is no longer hidden. It’s been joyfully revealedĀ to us—not because of who we are, but because of who HeĀ is.

What Is the Mystery?

In ancient times, "mystery" meant secret knowledge kept for the privileged few. But in God’s kingdom, the mystery is this:

That we are adopted as God’s children through Jesus Christ.

This is not information we discover through effort, but a truth revealed by grace.

Even in a remote village church in the jungle, among believers who can’t read or write—the same mystery is known. Because God made it known.

What Does This Mean for Us?

  • We are no longer orphans—we are God’s beloved children.

  • Our identity is radically transformedĀ by this truth.

  • This should lead us to deep humility—for we know only because God let us know.

ā€œIf we forget where our identity lies, we will remain trapped in insecurity and pride.ā€

This mystery reshapes how we see ourselves and others. We no longer compare, boast, or judge. Instead, we walk humbly as a family—redeemed by grace.

What Is the Plan?

Paul continues:

ā€œā€¦to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.ā€Ā (Ephesians 1:10)

God’s plan is cosmic. Not just saving individuals, but restoring all of creationĀ under the headship of Christ. The Cross is the center of this grand plan—where heaven and earth meet, where time is split, where redemption is set in motion.

God is uniting all things:
  • Creation will be restored (Romans 8:19–21)

  • People will be reconciled

  • Everything broken by sin will be brought under Christ

Living the Revealed Mystery

This mystery is not just to be believed—it’s to be lived.

We are called to:

  • Pursue unityĀ within the body of Christ

  • Forgive and reconcileĀ with others

  • Tear down barriersĀ of pride, ego, region, or class

If we preach grace but don’t practice it, our message loses credibility.

ā€œWe cannot preach a gospel of forgiveness while refusing to forgive.ā€

At the Cross, It Was All Revealed

When Jesus prayed, ā€œThe hour has comeā€, He referred to the cross. When He cried, ā€œMy God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?ā€ā€”the mystery was fully revealed:

  • The Father forsook the Son so that you and I could be brought home.

  • This is the heartbeat of salvation:

  • The Father delighted to reveal His will by giving His Son for us.
